What is the ruling on a person who kills somebody and repented before dying, while, Allah has sentenced him to hell and he is very angry at him and cursed him. Despite of these, he has also prepared for him a heavy punishment?

Answers

Ibrahim Saleh al-Husseini: Repentance erases what has been done before just as Islam erases the sins of a new Muslim. There are many Hadith talking on this issue including the narrations of Abu Huraira. Anyway the Qura’n has stated that ‘Allah will forgive anything, despite the sin of accompanying someone with him. So, the sin of killing is also forgivable, although it has claimed painful punishment from Allah.

Then, if the repentance of the killer is true, it is acceptable, even if the Qur’an appears him as to be eternal in the fire and the scholars said that this is a matter of huge risk. But, Allah has blessed us and has been kind upon us. That’s why he accepts the repentance; even it is from one who kills somebody.
