SHISIC
Sheikh Sharif Ibrahim Saleh Islamic Centre
The centre is located at the federal capital territory Abuja, Nigeria.
The centre is meant to serve those who are concerned with the promotion of research and studies in various aspects of Islamic jurisprudence and promoting unity amongst the Muslim Ummah, not only in Nigeria but the entire West African sub region.
The centre was conceived in view of the lack of the United Islamic reference centre or an academy for Islamic jurisprudence, that could bring together jurists who share common ethics of faith, behaviour of conduct and strengthen the unity amongst them.
All the Islamic centres which have existed and rendered tremendous services to Islam have been left to disintegrate and fall into ring. Similarly, there has been some neglect in the history of great scholars, whose services to Islam go beyond description; the books produced by such scholars are facing the risk of extinction.
These maladies and several other unhealthy conditions faced by Islam and the Muslim Ummah today were the driving forces below the establishment of this centre.
The centre which is international would not limit itself to education in its conservative sense only, but rather, as an all-encompassing centre concerned with the affairs of Muslim culture and civilization by promoting better understanding of contemporary challenges and present such challenges through knowledge and research.
